Timer Resolution

Timer Resolution

Timer Resolution let you tweak your Windows timer’s resolution in a matter of seconds and consequently improves the FPS while playing your favourite games.

What is the Timer Resolution?

If you are a hard core gamer you might faces two problems occasionally, one is being latency and the second is FPS drops. Timer Resolution helps you to manipulate the FPS. To fix the horrible micro-stuttering in games on windows all you need is a solution which helps you to correct FPS by correct i mean match the frames with game without dropping single frame.

If you test latency with each game you will notice the frame times pretty high which causes the frames to hitch in what gamers call “microstutter” its where the GPU skips a frame because it was rendered too late to be displayed in the amount of time required. Well that is all because of the default timer resolution in windows 10 is set to 35ms, So all you need to do is to manipulate the default value for do so Timer Resolution is all you need!

The default Window timer (for scheduling a specific event for a window in a while) is usually 10 to 25 milliseconds. Thus, Timer Resolution is developed for those who want to code for their windows to have a different timer length. Once set, this handy software will work while the application is still running and will auto-return to the last value when closed.

Turns out that our computer monitors can drastically affect the quality of our games. It can cause drastic FPS drops which make our favourite games look like a picture book. Think of watching a movie in a theatre and the picture skips repeatedly. That is what the average gamer experiences when they get an FPS drop. Timer Resolution allows the user to change the resolution of the default windows timer. This helps improve the gaming experience dramatically regardless of the game you are playing. Most people will notice the difference in first person shooters than any other game. The reason being is that first-person shooter games have the player constantly shifting their field of view. As great and simple as this program sounds I have to warn you. This will take a little getting used to and I can’t recommend it to someone that has never played with the resolution before. The learning curve can be steep but once you get the hang of it the program will take care of the rest. I’d recommend watching a tutorial online or at the official website for the program before you start making changes.

Concept of FPS

FPS – Frames per second, This is how video works. A video is a series of still images that, when viewed in order at a certain speed, give the appearance of motion. Each of those images is called a “frame.”

Frame rate, then, is the speed at which those images are shown, or how fast you “flip” through the book. It’s usually expressed as “frames per second,” or FPS. So if a video is captured and played back at 24fps, that means each second of video shows 24 distinct still images.

The speed at which they’re shown tricks your brain into perceiving smooth motion.

Is it good for gaming?

Timer Resolution is an interesting little program for windows that allows the user to tweak their computer’s resolution so they can perform better in games. When it comes to playing computer games I think it’s safe to say that it is a serious business. There are only two things that the majority of gamers complain about. The first one being latency and the second is FPS drops. If you don’t know what FPS means. It’s frames per second, which is a measurement of how many consecutive images a screen can handle each and every second.
